After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first
day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the
tomb. There was a violent earthquake,
for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled
back the stone and sat on it. His
appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they
shook and became like dead men. The
angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are
looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place
where he lay. Then go quickly and
tell his disciples: `He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you
into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." So the women hurried away from the tomb,
afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings,"
he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be
afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see
me." While the women were on
their way, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the chief
priests everything that had happened.
When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan,
they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, telling them, "You are to
say, `His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were
asleep.' If this report gets to the
governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble." So the soldiers took the money and did as
they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the
Jews to this very day. Then the
eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them
to go. When they saw him, they
worshiped him; but some doubted. Then
Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has
been given to me. Therefore go and
make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I
have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the
age." |

Today there is no commentary today, I
will not argue the point; did this man Jesus, who called Himself the Son of
God, truly get nailed to a cross and then on the third day arise from the
grave? I will not argue the point, I
can't, cause I know in my spirit it is so and you would have to be fully
persuaded in and of yourself. I've
already shut up my mouth because the commemoration has already begun in my
spirit. He goes down today, I have
already begun my regime of waiting to exhale, looking with anticipation. Will
He rise? Can he raise himself from the dead?
What event will take place early in the morning on Sunday. If he does, it will have profound implication
for all who believe, we shall also be raised after our own deaths. For the world at large, I bet today is a
canopy of blackness and overcast skies in their minds, as they laugh and try
to go on as if business as usual. For
today, to them, it is "Good Friday the 13th" an oxy-oxy-moron of a
thought. Today, the good in Good
Friday has always meant Friday the 13th.
It is the day of dread and doom, an innocent citizen will be nailed to
two sticks for only doing good in the face of corruption and civilized
decay. The bystanders must do the
math, if the innocent shall die for crimes not committed, what shall become
of a murderer like myself? I allowed
doctors to rip life from my womb and called it my right not to be
pregnant. I laid waste to the defenseless
with my sophistication in word and in deed.
I lied, I stole, I fornicated, I committed adultery, I neglected my
children, I even turned my back on my God, you name it, I have done it all,
of what will a irradical society do to me?
I am Barabas and I have been set free, Jesus hung on the cross for a
leper like me. There is no commentary
today, it is not guilt or shame that I recall, it is relief and escape and
mercy that I shall have dinner with on Sunday, for He IS RISEN my spirit
shrieks, HE IS RISEN and I have been set free! What more can I say... I am sitting down in my spirit, the
world does not understand, they are deep in confusion, I'm just some
off-beat, slightly slanted, peculiar but entertaining numb-witted Jesus freak
who likes to dance and shout praises and smile most of the time. He IS RISEN and I have nothing to say, I
can't argue with you about this coming day (2 Timothy 2:23-26). I am waiting to exhale, the whole memory
simply takes my breath away, my hands are in the air. |

Don't have anything to do with foolish
and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord's
servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to
teach, not resentful. Those who
oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them
repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come
to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them
captive to do his will. |
