Who is Like Him

Isaiah 40:25 (English-NIV)

Isaiah 6:1-5 (English-NIV)

------------------------------------------

25. "To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One.

Isaiah 6 (English-NIV)

------------------------------------------

1. In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.

2. Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.

3. And they were calling to one another: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory."

4. At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

5. "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty."

Comments:

There have been many comparisons made, but none measure up to God. The Prophet Isaiah said, when King Uzziah died, he saw the Lord. Who needs to get out of your way so that you can see the Lord. Better yet, who do you need to stop comparing Christianity to and go to the word yourself and see the Lord for yourself. Christians of poor reputation often prevent the unsaved from seeing the Truth. Sometimes, preachers, pastors and teachers like myself prevent people from seeing the Lord because our style is so likeable, or our pastor is charismatic, or we ourselves simply refuse to look past the actions of others to see God for Himself in Jesus. For this same reason, the Lord will not separate the wheat from the tares until the very end, as to not uproot the weak, the young in Christ. In essence, Isaiah thought himself to be a pretty cool guy, but one day after the death of his mentor, an angel appeared to him with three significant words to say Holy, Holy, Holy...Isaiah like many of us pious and religious thought himself to be pretty self-righteous, but a little comparison proved me (ooops), proved Isaiah wrong. The difference so evident, he saw himself unclean in comparison. He probably had been measuring himself by King Uzziah instead of by the true standard which is for us Christ Jesus. Who do you compare yourself to, if it is not Christ Jesus go back and do a make over. Tell somebody, the Truth can help you clean up your act.
